Learning English, the working and international communication language, is intensive and obligatory to all..

In order to be fluent in two languages, you will participate to a language preparation class at the first and second years :

The T.O.E.F.L. Ibt - TEST of English as a Foreign Language

The T.O.E.FL Ibt.
The English as a foreign language test evaluates the English level of a student. It is recognised by the training centers and the universities throughout the world. The test was conceived especially to measure the non-English-speaking students, who will participate at a higher level studies. The test is directed towards the subjects and situations in the academic environment.

The training centers become increasingly demanding in the TOEFL score and it plays a very important part to the admission of the international Bachelor, Master and MBA programs. A good TOEFL result is obligatory during the admission of the international courses students and particularly in the foreign university and training center.

GMAT preparation

The GMAT - Graduate Management Admission Test - is a standard English language test, which allows us to determine a necessary competence to pursue an MBA – Master of Business Administration international studies.

More than 200 000 candidates pass the GMAT each year.

The GMAT consists of 3 independent parts:

Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)

  • Analysing a problem (30 minutes) : explaining a various point of views of different personal subjects or readings.
  • Analysing an argument (30 minutes) : analysing the reasons of an argument and to write a constructive criticism by considering the counter arguments. The result should have a coherent structure and transitions between the parts.

Quantitative (75 minutes) requires an arithemetic, algebra and geometry knowledge.

  • Problem solving: student's skill test to understand the description of situations and to solve quantitative problems.
  • Data sufficiency: To analyse a quantitative problem, to recognise the relevant information and to determine the level of the data sufficiency of problem solving.

Verbal (75 minutes) : to evaluate the student's reading skill, as well as the argumentation skill.

  • Reading comprehension on subjects, such as social sciences, marketing, economy, and human resources management.
  • Critical reasoning. Four types of questions : construction and evaluation of arguments, formulation and evaluation of action plans. No prior knowledge required. The correct answer should not be presumed before reading all the answers.
  • Sentences correction: to be familiar with the English style and grammar convention.

Foreign language instruction

The aim of program is to allow students to be fluent in two foreign languages with a possibility to learn a third one.

Acquiring the second language is obligatory to all.

Workshops

Thanks to workshops students have the opportunity to study real cases and business situations submitted by companies, consulting firms, and by the Executive Committee either individually or in groups:

  • speakers from the business sector,
  • Conferences and field trips,
  • Case studies of real cases and business situations

Workshops will offer participants the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and to develop a professional approach to their learning. Programs are designed to include corporate environment and current event related topics (business news).

European management seminars

Practicing European companies and business life, analysis of business in the enlarged EU, the proposed program is adequat to the business needs of personal projects in European management. Real case studies are carried out in collaboration with our associated centers, the Chambers of Commerce network and ECMU business partners in the EU countries.

European workshops :

Delivered in Brussels, Milan, London by business leaders, academics, EU officials and International Affairs personalities, the conferences and lectures are held in French and English. Des visites d’Institutions européennes et d’entreprises sont organisées pendant ces séminaires.

These seminars and workshops are sactioned by a "Certificate of European Mastery skills" delivered by ECMU.

The graduates from IEMI-ISTI benefiting the 40 years of experience in the networking of the professional relations groups. Meetings are held with prospective employers in form of "an employment day". Many companies send representatives to the center each year to meet and interview graduates for recruitment, but also for a professional mission, which creats an important number of placement rate. Occupying the senior positions around the world, the formers are now the important international network. They are the ambassadors who reflect, with their different nationalities and skills, to be a quality label of the international training.

Career information and employment

Thanks to the concrete service and the vocational education, our students are able to obtain the first job quickly by working at the same company they work during the internship, or by the information sessions and seminars of career negotiations at the companies.

In addition, a job bulletin is circulated within the Institute every month, as well as a quaterly newsletter is sent to the companies worldwise.

Professional coaching & consulting orientation

At IEMI-ISTI we believe that helping participants managing theit careers and developping personality is an essential part of the MBA program. During the studies, students are supervised by coaches who specialized in personal development and group dynamics. The aim is to identify the most appropriate careers and to identify career goals, to develop career plans, to help elaborating the CV and motivation letter, to prepare for interviews, to develop a personal development plan, maximizing the personal and interpersonal potential.

The MBA development council department helps you to define your project and build your career throughout your MBA program during your job search, your thesis and after your MBA.

The proposed guidance and support throughout the course duration, starting from the professional mission, business economique, job search, are available during the workshop:

Internship and Management training

1st year: Internships

  • Internships at the end of the academic year: 4 months
  • In France or European Union

4 months of a total immersion at a company beginning from May, will allow students to apply their knowledge acquired on the first year. This internship will also be a way to assess their skills and to refine their professional project.

2nd Année : Internships

From October to May: part-time internships

From May to September: Full-time internships

  • Internship at the end of the academic year: 4 months
  • European Union

4 months of internship at a company in the European Union will enable students to gain confidence at work and to consolidate their career choice.

Internship reports:
These internships lead to reports. The report writing methodology will be given during the methodology workshops.

3rd Année : Management training

Management training at the company at the end of the third year – European Bachelor – allows students to integrate theoretical and technical aspects.

This training has a minimum of 6 months, is given to the students on the behalf of French and foreign companies, which may focus on variety of topics, such as:

  • Launching a new product or activity
  • Market research
  • Creating a project events
  • Reorganisation of a service
  • Implantation of a touristic establishment abroad
  • Opening of new markets in Europe or international…

All areas of international tourism can be selected, but the objective of the training and professional project must be concrete and allowing students to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their training at ISTI. It has to show initiative, reflection, judgment and ability of decision making.

In addition, this year end training will resulting in writing a paper, in which the student is asked to summarize the achievements, work experience and possible problems. It also allows participants to refine their professional project.
